Ella and Chris' gorgeous autumn wedding at Wortley Hall
Autumn is my favourite wedding season for its beautiful colours, gorgeous golden light, and brides who are happy to get outside and look beautiful for the camera. Ella and Chris were a laid back and fun loving couple who had the most wonderful wedding at Wortley Hall in Yorkshire, and were totally game for using the grounds as a stunning natural backdrop to their special day. For me their day had many highlights, the aforementioned portraits in the stately home's grounds and some heartfelt and hilarious speeches being two of them, however the biggest highlight was Ella's triumph in training Chris for their carefully choreographed first dance - tens across the board methinks!
Click through to the pictures and slideshow for a glimpse into their day, and to discover just who their fab suppliers were.
Vicky and Ben's late summer wedding at Aston Hall
Vicky and Ben's wedding at Aston Hall last September was a privilege to photograph. They are such an easy going and very happy couple with a lovely family that made the day all that more pleasurable to be part of. My first photographic session with them was when we went up to Curbar Edge for their pre-wedding shoot at the very spot that Ben romantically proposed to Vicky, and set the scene for their big day at Aston Hall.
Check out the slide show for special moments from their big wedding day at Aston Hall…
Gemma and James at Whitley Hall Hotel (with dogs in tutus and Dixie from Heart FM)
I first met Gemma and James in January 2016 when they won a competition for an engagement shoot I had been running, and from Gemma's first email I knew they were a relaxed down to earth couple who were going to have a wonderful stress free wedding day. I guess I wasn't quite prepared for just how laid back the day would be though, but when I arrived at Gemma's mum's on time to photograph Gemma getting ready only to find them out I soon realised everything would be as chilled as the champagne toasts. Preparation was simple with lots of laughter and, after a welcome interruption by Tracy and Grace from Campbells Flowers, Gemma appeared looking the radiant bride that she was for the day. Off in a stunning vintage Austin to St Mary's church in Bolsterstone for a lovely ceremony before their grand arrival at Whitley Hall for celebrations with family and friends. There were also two very special and important guest appearances at Whitley Hall. First were Gemma and James' little dogs dressed in tutus, and second was Dixie from Heart FM who had very kindly agreed to DJ for the evening party - Gemma's mum wasn't the only star struck guest, but I think more than one dream had come true for her that day.

Katie and Michael's summer wedding at Wentworth Woodhouse
A scorching summer day in Britain's biggest stately home was the scene for Katie and Michael's fabulous wedding. The crumbling splendour of Wentworth Woodhouse with its mixed Georgian and Baroque architecture and pristine grounds is a unique wedding venue that should feature on many couple's short lists.

Beth and Russ super fun marquee wedding with an added sunset
Weddings don't get much better than this. Mix a super fun couple with a marquee and a wheat field and you have a recipe for a spectacular wedding (and a few stunning photos too)! I'm not sure the quiet village of Elmton in Derbyshire knew what hit it the sunny July day Beth and Russ got married, but it welcomed them and their wonderful quirkiness with gusto. Highlights from their day included the small but beautiful church, a tattooed vicar, a beautiful vintage bus, rustic garden games made by Beth's fair hand, smoked meat that had been cooked all night by the most dedicated hairy guys, a wheat field, and a stunning sunset. I loved this wedding so much!
The slideshow really captures the essence of Beth and Russ day. I hope you enjoy their love story!

Peak District pre-wedding shoot with Christina and Toby
Christina and Toby are a couple who are very much in love. I am a photographer and I am very much in love with the Peak District, so what better place to celebrate our mutual affections than sunset at Curbar Edge. It is fair to say that when Christina and Toby left after the shoot, they had also fallen deeply in love with the Peak District.
Enjoy the photos, and if you are looking for a photographer for your wedding or couples shoot, then please get in touch.
Alex and Jon's whimsical Whirlowbrook Hall wedding
Whirlowbrook Hall is a little gem on the edge of Sheffield and was the perfect venue for Alex and Jon's whimsical wedding. The beautiful grounds give a wealth of opportunity for bride and groom portraits, and for this one we disappeared into the woods to make the most of Alex's wonderful long veil against the lush contrast of an English woodland.
The dress: Maggie Sottero supplied by Brides of Bakewell
The flowers: Marks and Spencer - arranged by Alex and her family
Hair: Fanny and Clara
Makeup: Amba Lawson

Catherine and Pearce's Peak District marquee wedding in the Spring sunshine at Standlow Farm
Remember that beautiful hot summer day we had in April this year? Well that was the perfect day for Catherine and Pearce's amazing marquee wedding at Standlow Farm in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the swimming costumes drying in the sun - in April!
Catherine wore a most beautiful Essense of Australia vintage lace dress which contrasted perfectly with her bridesmaids' purple tones. The vintage theme was carried over in to the 1960s VW camper that whisked her off to the church in Kniveton - fashionable just a few minutes late of course. Pearce had a few personal touches with his blue suit - cufflinks with C and P engaged on them and some personalised stitching inside his jacket.
The church at Kniveton is absolutely beautiful, if a little bit tiny, inside and was packed with Catherine and Pearce's family and friends. The ceremony was traditional right up until the end when everyone got up to dance and sing one of Pearce's favourite songs as the married couple exited the church. After a few glasses of champagne outside the VW camper then took them back to the farm for a marquee reception with some of the best wedding food I have yet to taste. A perfect day was made even more perfect by golden sunshine that lasted until the pizza oven opened outside for the evening guests to enjoy.

Katie and Craig's Peak Edge Hotel wedding
When two of the most easy going people you could ever meet get married you can be sure they will have a great time, and that's exactly what Katie and Craig's wedding was - fun, fun, fun!
The dress: a stunning vintage lace Maggie Sottero that made Katie look a million dollars and more. The girls: a crazy fun bunch that were all beautiful in their pastel shades. The groom: clearly loves Katie to bits. The guys: a genuinely nice crowd dressed in suits by Reece Ford.
Check out the photos for a feel of this wonderful wedding, portraits by the famous rock, a lovely sunset, and hilarious guests.
Once again it's a big thank you to Peal Edge Hotel for looking after the bride and groom, their guests, and of course their photographer. But my biggest thank you goes to Katie and Craig for inviting me to be part of their wedding and document their special day.
I hope you enjoy the slideshow - it gives a real flair of what Katie and Craig's wedding was all about.
Nicole and Mark's Christmas fireworks wedding at Ringwood Hall Hotel
I love Christmas weddings, and Ringwood Hall becomes a magical winter wonderland at this time of year - even without any snow!
Nicole and her bridesmaids got ready at home in Wakefield with Nicole's two cats looking on. The bridesmaids wore beautiful earthy dresses and matching gold trainers. Nicole made the unique pinecone bouquets herself on the morning of the wedding, which were the perfect complement to her stunning bouquet complete with a claret protea from her native South Africa (made by The Little Flower Shop). Mark was waiting slightly longer than expected for his fashionably late bride at St Helen's Church in Wakefield, which was a beautiful candlelit and romantic setting for a Christmas wedding. Vows done it was time to head into the gale force wind for a crazy confetti shot before the now Mr and Mrs headed down the motorway to Derbyshire for their reception.
Wind and rain would keep most brides inside, but Nicole was more than keen to get out for a few high speed portraits which only added to the fun of the day. Check out the veil shots in the gallery below for an idea of just how strong the wind was. The wedding breakfast was followed by speeches that were almost as exciting as the weather, filled with South African banter and more than a touch of emotion. The wind dropped just in time for a spectacular surprise firework display on the hotel back lawn before everyone headed back inside to dance the night away.
Congratulations Nicole and Mark, and thank you so much for inviting me to tell the story of your day.

Sharley and Dan's wedding at Ye Olde Bell
There is always something special about Christmas weddings, and Ye Olde Bell in Retford is a magical setting for one. The day started with Sharley and the girls getting ready in a magnificent suite overlooking the hotel gardens - plenty of opportunity here for some arty shots of the bride. The ceremony was held in a wonderful room dating from the 17th century with a magnificent Christmas tree and roaring open fires keeping the guests warm. Afternoon light at this time of year is special even on overcast days, so we took the opportunity to make the most of the hotel gardens for some bridal and bride and groom portraits. The wedding breakfast and speeches went down well, then Sharley said she was up for some night time wedding photography outside in the rain (see the image above!) and I don't mind getting a bit wet, so out we went. The evening and first dance was played out by The Hypertones, a pretty cool Nottingham band who know how to fill a dance floor.
I hope you enjoy the gallery.
