Iain and Amanda live in the USA and so I only met them by video before they flew to the UK to get married at Eyam Hall in the Derbyshire Peak District, but they felt like old friends on the day. They flew what felt like hundreds of family and friends over to spend the day with them, and the multi cultural feel was amazing. The weather was wonderful, the laughter infectious, and they had the perfect English (with a bit of American) wedding.

Anna and Michael are two of life's really lovely people. Their wedding was a beautiful tale of romance starting at Anna's parents' house, before heading off to St John's Church in Ranmoor for the vows. Lots of confetti later and we headed to the Peak District for some WOW portraits before zooming off to Stretton Manor Barn for a fabulous reception.

Megan and Naomi's real wedding was in Japan, but sadly they didn't take me there with them. They did however ask me to photograph the wedding party they held here in Sheffield, and they had a stomping time. Check out the dancing shots for some tips on how to party!

Frankie and Mike chose the beautiful Peak District for their summer wedding. A lovely cottage in Great Longstone was the base for Frankie and her family and bridesmaids to get ready, followed by a beautiful service at St Anne's Church in Baslow, and then a cracking reception at Thronbridge Hall. Transport was provided by a double decker London bus and a vintage Rolls Royce. The whole day was made very special or them by their wonderful family and friends. Frankie's sister (Jenny Walser) was a brilliant toast master for some very heartfelt and often funny speeches, the Ceilidh was hilarious, and the live band finished the evening in style.

Megan and Robert had their perfect day at The Carriage Hall in Plumtree.

I first met Megan and Robert when I was the photographer for their friend's wedding a couple of years ago, and so it was an honour to be invited to capture their wedding day as well. The Carriage Hall is a stunning venue and, combined with gorgeous early summer sunshine and a fun bunch of guests who really knew how to party (check out the dancing pictures!) they really did have a perfect day.

Anna and Alastair chose one of the hottest days of 2022 to get married, and they did it in style! Abi and Scott tied the knot at the fabulous Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield. Their late summer wedding was the wedding of their dreams and shared with their closest friends and family. A special touch for Abi and Scott was their pre-ceremony reveal on the stairs - a touching and very private moment. The lawn games were also a massive hit - especially when Abi's mum showed everyone how to limbo!

2022 was the year that weddings came back!

The summer was a heady mix of outdoor weddings, fantastic hazy summer light and the fulfilment of lots of couples long held weddings dreams after the pandemic. It was brilliant too to meet up with couples again who were now having a big wedding party after an intimate lockdown wedding, or who were celebrating the birth of their little ones with a photo shoot - so many babies, you have all been busy! Another highlight has been the weddings of family and friends of couples who I have already photographed. It's always such a compliment when people love their photos enough to recommend me to their loved ones.

What a wedding and what a venue! Beth and James had a wonderful summer wedding at the most amazing Hooton Pagnell Hall. Beth looked a million dollars in her Blue by Enzoani wedding dress, and the beautifully manicured gardens at Hooton Pagnell Hall gave us plenty of opportunity to show off Beth, the dress, her flowers and her new husband.

Sarah and Tristan's wedding was one of those truly special days - not only because two people that love each other dearly got married, but they were blessed with some of that special afternoon light that only the Peak District can offer.

The day started at The George Hotel in Hathersage with the girls getting ready. Tristan's nerves were probably a tad frayed when Sarah arrived fashionably late at St Michael and All Angels Church, but he was soon smiling his huge smile again when she walked down the aisle. As soon as the service was over it was outside to throw confetti in the beautiful May sunshine before jumping in the vintage VW Camper (Vintage Volksweddings) for a trip to Higgar Tor for some relaxed portraits in the rugged landscape of the Peak District. This was my favourite part of the day as the light really did help me paint some gorgeous images. The happy couple then jumped back in the camper for the ride to Eyam Hall and a wonderful reception the garden marquee. Food was masterfully supplied by the Greedy Greek and the hospitality from the staff at Eyam Hall was second to none. Sarah and Tristan added personal touched to the decor, including a cake stand made from old doors from the house they are renovating and a fun filled cupcake bake-off competition.

2018 has been nothing other than a wow year for me as a wedding photographer. I have been part of so many amazing weddings and have been privileged to capture so many wonderful memories for all the couples that chose me for their special day. The long hot summer meant that summer weddings were extra happy affairs, and the endless evenings with golden light were truly special. Looking back through the year's images brings back many happy memories for me and reminds me (not that I ever forget) that I LOVE wedding photography.
